Born in Geldrop, he trained as a journalist in Tilburg and started young as a reporter at NOVA. He grew into one of the most in-demand presenters and chairs in the Netherlands, from prime-time television to in-depth radio. His book De eeuw van mijn dochters (2020) is built entirely on putting big questions to leading experts — he wants, he says, to make the question mark fashionable again.
